Jesse Fox

 

Jesse hails from the spectacular city of Louisville, Kentucky, home of the Kentucky Derby and Lebowskifest. She earned a BA in English and a BA in Communication at the University of Kentucky and an MA in Communication (Social Influence) at the University of Arizona.

Her past research has included parasocial interaction and involvement with television, the impact of sexual media content on emerging adults, and the use of Internet pornography. Her diverse interests include media literacy; the production and impact of alternative media; health communication; computer-mediated communication and its impact on interpersonal relationships and social interaction; human-computer interaction and its effects on identity and social learning; methodological issues in studying media; pornography consumption; communication through popular music; and all things Kentucky. Currently she is working in the Virtual Human Interaction Lab under the direction of Dr. Jeremy Bailenson.
